If you’re coming up to the Nevada City area to get a little R&R, then you should bring your fishing pole. The Harmony Ridge Market is located along the way to all the fishing spots east on highway 20. Stop in for all your fishing needs; Fresh nightcrawlers, powerbait, terminal tackle, beers, ice, sandwiches.
Scotts Flat Lake Reservoir is located 4 miles down Scotts Flat Rd and is on the DF&G stocking program. Scotts Flat lake holds trout, bass, large and small mouth, kokanee, and catfish. East from the store 18 miles is Bowman Lake road. There you will find dozens of lakes that are all fish-able. There are some primitive campsites as well. Just remember what you bring in, you bring out. Don't litter and keep your fires low (or none if high summer). Lakes include; Fuller, Bowman, Weaver, Faucherie, Sawmill, Milk, Glacier, Round,Jackson Meadows and Spaulding just to name a few. All lakes are high sierra, granite lakes and were once on the DF&G stocking program. I know there are some nice hold overs waiting to be caught.
